
Uxmal is an ancient Mayan city in the state of Yucatan in Mexico. In the Mayan language name of this place means "built three times" and is one of the best preserved ruins in the Mexican state. This city was one of the most important and a religious center in the region Puuc, which has several Mayan ruins in Yucatan state, it is believed that the best time was between 7 and 10 centuries of the modern era, and has a variety of architectural styles of different stages in construction.
Uxmal is located about 62 kilometers from Merida and usually take several hours to explore it in its whole. There is a small museum, as well as places to eat and souvenir shops. Sunscreen is recommended for skin and good walking shoes. The most impressive building for tourists is the Pyramid of the guess, which is 35 meters high, and the legends say it was built in one night.
