The Sierra of the organs, a nature park on 27 November 2000, covers an area of 1,224 hectares. Its name comes from the resemblance of these rocks with organ pipes, these immense musical instruments since the third century BC accompanying or accompanied the liturgical ceremonies in the ancient churches.
In the organs, nature is expressed through an interesting variety of fauna and flora. Here, wildlife presents rare and endangered species such as civet, swift foxes and the peregrine falcon.

The scenic beauty of Sierra De Los Organos landforms are an invitation to adventure. Its vegetation-free rock with vertical slopes up to 60 inches-its exciting rocky paths and labyrinths are perfect for the practice of climbing, mountain biking and memorable days of camping.
The park’s climate varies from temperate to hot during the day and cool to cold at night. The traveller has to prevent and bring the liquid as it deems necessary for their journey.
To visit the area must follow the federal road 45 that one Zacatecas and Durango. The nearest town is Sombrerete, 25 km, where every year a lively festival is celebrated on September 8 in honour of the Virgin of the Conception.
