This majestic marine rocky ledge, the 2nd and worlds largest of its kind, is embedded in the middle of the Sea of Cortes, given its privileged location, situated amidst the currents of El Niño, which come from the Pacific and Sea of Cortez.
It is recognized as a sanctuary and natural habitat for hundreds of seals and sea lions that are housed during the months of October through April, plus dolphins and porpoises that stay all year, happily decorating the beautiful beaches of the Sea of Cortes near this beautiful island, which also serve as shelter provides food for the variety of marine life that there are developed and contributes to the survival of the vast number of species that nest in this habitat.
Farallon Island provides refuge for thousands of migratory seabirds, both native and migratory species such as gulls, pelicans, and herons, among others. This proliferation of species is that it is considered the ideal place for tourism contemplative.
It is located in north-western Mexico, in the beautiful state of Sinaloa. If you head north of the state and take as a reference point the city of Los Mochis, you get to this beautiful attraction through the four-lane state highway, a distance of approximately 25 km from the reference point.
The island is 27 km offshore, so it will need to seek the services of speedboats and light, but the service you find the old pier of the Trustee of Topolobampo, service contract, by time of hire or through the tourism cooperative.
Around this island are practiced various sports activities such as sport fishing offshore and abundant species such as sailfish, Dorado and whagoo. Furthermore, due to abundant fish and waterfowl observation is practiced in these species, either by making photographic or video shots.

Farallon Island is located 25 miles from Los Mochis.
By land:
Los Mochis is located at 232 km from Culiacan, north and south bound by federal highway.
Since the train leaves this scenic city Chihuahua to the Pacific, which leads directly to the Sierra Tarahumara.
By Air:
Modern federal Airport airlines operating in Fort Valley, connecting to Los Mochis in the major cities and U.S. cities such as Arizona, California and Los Angeles. The airport is located 18 km west of Los Mochis.
By sea:
By ferry, the Baja Ferries company, provides transportation for passengers and vehicles through the La Paz-Topolobampo-La Paz, connecting daily with Sinaloa Baja California Sur. It is a 7-hour journey through the waters of the Sea of Cortez.
