It is located in the southern portion of the former island of Cancun, currently attached to land by two bridges The original name of the site is unknown and only recently was it named the "El Rey" because the site was discovered in the upper portion of a sculpture representing a human face decorated with an elaborate headdress, which will portray a character of high rank. Today, the head of "The King" is sheltered and exposed in the Archaeological Museum of Cancun.

The access fee is $ 14.00 and the visiting hours of 08:00 to 17:00 hours Monday to Sunday.

The site has parking, toilets and an area of issuing tickets. Some certified guides offering their services during office hours and visit the Archaeological Museum of Cancun organizes guided tours for school groups and individuals interested in having more information about the prehistoric past of the area.
