
Despite being a small island, Cozumel is a destination with more tourist cruises. Being a diving mecca, Cozumel now offers a wide range of activities and excursions. On land or under water, the magic and charm of Cozumel is everywhere, in the streets of San Jose town in its traditional spirit in its buildings and roads impregnated with Mayan history, in their relentless and numerous coral reefs and its fabulous marine reserves, where life is manifested in different ways, etc.
Among the main attractions are its beaches, there are beaches in bays of varying widths and entrances to points of sand. The calm waters of the west side of Cozumel are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing and sunbathing. The sea of Chankanaab is the best for water sports like snorkeling and diving.
The main attraction of the park is Chankanaab Lagoon in the Mayan language name means "little sea" originated from the erosion of limestone and the force of rain water and sea a unique ecosystem with resulting influx of multicolored fish, molluscs, crustaceans and marine plant life. At Chankanaab you may explore the wonderful world of coral reefs, colorful fish and many other surprises. The botanical garden is home to hundreds of birds, which can be seen at dusk. This botanical garden has the largest bamboo curtain of the Yucatan Peninsula, it offers over 60 varieties of palms, lilies and a corridor of wild orchids.
-San Miguel is the urban heart of Cozumel and preserves the traditional spirit of the coastal peoples. Among its attractions is Plaza del Sol or Zocalo and moved boardwalk that runs in parallel with the way Rafael Melgar, the main town. The town is the western side of the island. Here you will find most hotels, restaurants, jewelry stores, craft and other shops of Cozumel.
-Cedral is said to be the oldest architectural structure of Cozumel. Dating from 800 AD and, according to some researchers, was the first Mayan temple they met the Spaniards to reach the island in 1518.
