Chihuahua is the largest state in Mexico and is located in its northern part. To the south is bordered by the states of Durango and Sinaloa, Sonora to the west, east and northern Mexico with the U.S. states of Texas and New Mexico. Its name comes from a Nahuatl voice that means "dry or sandy area. It was inhabited by various indigenous groups, but today is known for Rarámuris that inhabit the Sierra Tarahumara.

One of the places to visit is the area of pre-Hispanic Paquimé in Casas Grandes. Other interesting sites are Hidalgo del Parral, the ancient capital of Nueva Vizcaya, and mining towns such as San Francisco del Oro, Santa Barbara and Valle de Allende. The state is divided into three main regions the central table, a region of plains and portions capable of holding, the Sierra Madre Occidental, formed through canyons and gullies, and the desert area. It is a center of agriculture, livestock, industrial and commercial supported by the strong influx of tourists.
Its cultural venues are half-structural with the beauties, as its Metropolitan Cathedral, or Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rule and San Francisco de Asis. It was built during the eighteenth century temple and is a particularly different from the rest of the ones built in New Spain during that time. Represents the most important in all of northern Mexico's "rich Baroque." Its architecture is reflected in the Government Palace and the Palacio Federal, which were historical scenarios. It has a Cultural Center which was the residence of the governor Don Luis Terrazas. Here are various cultural events and made a museum exhibition of ceramics and the development of culture Paquimé. Another cultural representation is the Regional Museum of the University of Chihuahua. This building is the best example of art nouveau architecture in Mexico. Paquimé is the most important archaeological site that has been discovered thus far in the north. The complex archaeological Paquimé is one of the most important pre-Columbian ruins in northern Mexico. It has an area of 50 hectares, not investigated in full and its buildings combine elements of indigenous southwestern United States and the Mesoamerican peoples, showing the influence of the latter in the cult of Quetzalcoatl and the game ball .
