Tlaxcala

The amazing city of Tlaxcala, with the city capital of the same name, is located in the Western region of the Republic of Mexico.
This city was founded over ancient ruins of indigenous provinces, you can admire the architecture of several religious and civil buildings which decorate it. The Palacio Municipal in which you can find excelent paintings that narrate the history of Tlaxcala since the pre-hispanic time until nowadays.

For those who like parties and festivities that show tradition, Tlaxcala offers the joy of its bullfights which are famous all around the country, the exquisite gastronomy with all its flavours in which you can find tortillas soup, and mixiotes that is chiken wrapped in maguey leaves. You can delight yourself with the food acompained by a good regionl wine and have for dessert corn panques or the traditional amaranto sweets.
Around Tlaxcala you can discover interesting archeological zones such as Cacaxtla, one of the most important indigenous capitals during the Epiclassic period.
You can also enjoy taking a walk through the National Park Malinche the perfect corner to camp and enjoy nature. Around Tlaxcala you will find perfect places to to walk, practice mountain bike, climbing and excersice your body in the middle of a natural environment.

Hey Paul, I've been to Tlaxcala, and I must say it's a beautiful and calm city with lovely colonial buildings. The murals inside the Palacio de Gobierno are simply outstanding and Tlaxacala is really worth the trip if one wants to relax and have a peaceful weekend.
Why don't you write some information about the place?, I think you should, it would be good to let everybody know how cute that place is.
It is the smallest state in Mexico but it's really amazing...
