
The Mayan Riviera runs along the Carribean coastline of the state of Quintana Roo. Beginning at about 32km from Cancun in Puerto Morelos, it extends down to Punta Allen a fishing village within the Sian Ka'an reserve. This world-renowned paradise offers man-grooves and lagoons, ancient Mayan cities, ecological reserves and the world's second largest coral reefs. Mexicans refer to the Riviera as Riviera Maya while foreigners call it Mayan Riviera or Maya Riviera.
Within this amazing place you can find some of the most beautiful places to spend your vacations and also very interesting activities to do and places to see. For example you can go to Playa del Carmen, this was a small fishing village which has grown into cosmopolitan town, the largest in the Mayan Riviera, but still small enough to get round on foot. If you re interested in shopping, nightlife and fine dining, this is the place but the beach is also alluring.
Cozumel, Mexico's largest island is a short ferry ride from Play del Carmen, and a gorgeous place to spend vacations. It is also great spot for scuba diving and snorkeling, the clear water offering clear visibility of up to 200 feet. The center of the island is a undeveloped jungle with lagoons.

The great attractive, Tulum, which once was a busy Mayan ceremonial center and trading port. The ruins re in spectacular setting on cliff overlooking the Carribean sea.
You can go to X Caret Eco Theme Park where you can swim in underground rivers, and visit ancient Mayan ruins. Xel-H Park presents unique ecosystem, with multitudes of tropical fish perfect fro snorkeling. You can aalso float along the river on inner tubes, and swim with dolphins.
Other parks you can visit re Aktun Chen, Xaman Ha aviary, the Sin Ka'an and biosphere reserve.
